    Oh goody!

Joy of joys...the Super 14 season starts this weekend! At last! Some bloody rugby!

There is, of course, a downside to the Super 14 competition - it's the most ridiculously short rugby season EVER, with each team only meeting once. No home AND away games, no rite of reply, no chance to avenge a crushing defeat or anihilate your foes twice, just to rub it in...not nearly enough bloody rugby!

But I shouldn't be getting to the end of the season before it's even started...

Here's to the Brumbies - may they find success this year. And if not the Brumbies, then the Reds (Christ knows it must be their turn soon!)...and if not the Reds, then the Tahs (I do live in NSW, after all)...and if not the Tahs, then the Western Force (even though it's a super-gay name)...just let it be an Australian team and not NZ or SA!

And here's to more bloody rugby!

I think I speak for a lot of ruggers when I say please let any team win...except a SA one. I don't know why but those guys just rub me the wrong way..whether its on the pitch or in the bar or even in the store..Can someone explain???

I too have had frosty run-ins with South Africans...usually i get a feeling that they think i'm inferior and shouldn't be talking rugby because i'm from the wrong country or something - I know they come from a tough society and everything, but in rugby circles would be nice if we could be a bit friendlier and not chastise someone because of where they're from which can't really be helped.

I've never had the same communication issues with Kiwis, Aussies, the English, or even Argentinians...although I did run into a very unfriendly leek the other day!
