What team do you play for/Support ACT Brumbies are my #1 team. My playing days are long over, so I just cheer loudly these days!
About Me I'm a hotel manager on the south coast of NSW. Love my job! In a relationship but definitely not married. No kids to support me in my old age...too late to fix that now!
Music Love everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Toby Keith, with a little AC/DC and Beethoven in between. Can't stand rapping gangstas...bunch of posturing cretins with millions in the bank but still banging on about the ghetto...boring
Movies Reservoir Dogs, Bladerunner, Hi Fidelity, Breakfast At Tiffany's, The Shawshank Redemption, We Were Soldiers, Benny & Joon, Logan's Run, The English Patient, Fargo, Lost In Translation, Romper Stomper, Once Were Warriors, Whalerider, The Green Mile, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, Jarhead, The Bulletproof Monk, Four Weddings And A Funeral, Sands of Iwo Jima, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou...
TV Californication, Scrubs, The Family Guy, The Last Detective, Boston Legal, the ABC, strange "art" movies (subtitled soft porn with no discernible story) on SBS, whatever is on when I get home from work @ 2am...
Books Biographies, mysteries, technical manuals, comics, dramas, comedies...anything by Irving Welsh, Kaz Cooke, Nick Hornby, Gabrielle Lord, Colin Bateman, John Irving and PG Wodehouse. Dan Brown is not a good writer.
Likes I like motorbikes, hot rods and tattoos and men with motorbikes, hot rods and tattoos. If they play rugby too...shiver! Predictably enough (this is ruggerspace, after all), I LOVE RUGBY! Chocolate and shoes are good too...nothing better than watching a hard-fought rugby battle between worthy opponents while eating a big block of Cadbury's and wearing a sexy pair of red high heels...or maybe that's just me!
Dislikes Hate it when my team loses...or I run out of chocolate...or (horror of horrors!) I break a heel!
Hobbies Drinking too much, dancing like a loon (the two may be connected), listening to music (my life has a continuous soundtrack playing in my head), watching good rugby, watching bad rugby...
Vices Cigarettes and whiskey (though I draw the line at wild, wild women!). I suppose rugby, chocolate and a mild shoe obsession could be considered vices in some countries...
Virtues ...in others, they are considered virtues!
Heroes I don't have heroes, but my idols are Phil Kearns, John Eales, George Smith, Simon Poidevin, Matt Burke, Chris Latham

Joy of joys...the Super 14 season starts this weekend! At last! Some bloody rugby!

There is, of course, a downside to the Super 14 competition - it's the most ridiculously short rugby season EVER, with each team only meeting once. No home AND away games, no rite of reply, no chance to avenge a crushing defeat or anihilate your foes twice, just to rub it in...not nearly enough bloody rugby!

But I shouldn't be getting to the end of the season before it's even started...

Here's to the Brumbies - may they find success this year. And if not the Brumbies, then the Reds (Christ knows it must be their turn soon!)...and if not the Reds, then the Tahs (I do live in NSW, after all)...and if not the Tahs, then the Western Force (even though it's a super-gay name)...just let it be an Australian team and not NZ or SA!

And here's to more bloody rugby!

    Statistics

Sunday, October 7, 2007, 05:26 PM AEST [General]

Blah...blah...blah...yes, I know some people get so hung up on stats that they forget to enjoy the game, but now that I've got nothing else to do (because the Wallabies are on their way home)...

Leading try scorer: Drew Mitchell (AUS) - 7 tries

2nd highest team tries:    Australia - 31 tries (beaten only by NZ with 48)

England's only stat of any note:    51 points kicked by JW

I know that it's sour grapes, and nothing can change the end result, but what would you rather watch? A free-flowing game of try-fest rugby, or Jonny kicking penalty after penalty?  Ho hum...

Give me our style of game any day!  Go FIJI!!

    The hopes of a hemisphere...

...now rest squarely upon the shoulders of Fiji.  Ok, there's still South Africa, but who could really be comfortable cheering for them?

No, Fiji is now the last bastion of southern force in this World Cup...doesn't bode well!  But they have my unwavering support from here on in, and I'm thrilled to see a "lesser" team take on the more cashed-up nations.

If I could just get the hang of that national anthem...
